Having left the corporate world in a run down, burnt out state, he was adamant never to let that happen again. Family were neglected while his priority lay in building a career. Not unusual for many he re-invented himself over two years, fueled by a passion to help others see the light before they manifested disease. He was not conscious of decisions he made. Neither did he realise the impact on family and friends. Consequences were grave. Relationships started to fall down, disintegrate. Today Bala was playing at 100% on both work and play fronts. He loved the life he had created! Re-inventing from an IT background he moved into change management, working with people who were in the same predicament that he had been a few years ago.
He had re-prioritised values that were responsible for intrinsic motivation and by some unseen force, was moving down a path he had never imagined. He was now more aware of health. It was his most important value today. If he was aligned in mind, body and spirit the rest would follow. He looked back on the day he attended Sylvia’s talk on consciousness. That was the turning point that shook him up. Was he conscious about what he was doing or was he operating out of routine because he had always done it that way. His awakening stemmed from a level of discontent. He was not progressing his priorities. Freedom was important yet he felt imprisoned, even though he earned a great income that afforded him travel. He did not feel free and that was when he decided things had to change. He spoke to Sylvia after her keynote address. She said he had to first find himself, his true identity – “Who was Bala and what did he want?” There was a structure to discover this which he needed to go through. Sylvia said she was coming across more people in the same situation Bala was in. More people were being called to consciousness. The ones who were not thought it crazy to give up well-paid jobs in search for something living in the unknown. Sylvia had been down that road. She assured Bala that she had the answers, the formula to succeed fast. Move out of transition to the new world awaiting him. The rest was history! Bala did Sylvia’s Rapid Coaching courses that were steeped in Neuro-linguistic Programming. All of these worked with the five senses, processes that were easy to learn and apply. The best part of this journey was that he never expected to meet others like him. They too were looking for something they could be passionate about. It was a surprise, a gift from the Universe. Kind of a reward for venturing into his inner world. These people were his best friends today. In searching for myself he had also tapped into a wellspring of creativity and confidence. From dealing with figures and spreadsheets he now worked with Sylvia to help people develop to the next level. Bala shook himself out of his reverie. Sylvia had just arrived for the meeting they were about to have. They were here to discuss moving a corporation that was crying for help, to a more productive space. Not by the traditional, conservative structure, rules and processes that led to people living like zombies. But more to help them unleash the potential of each employee. The journey while simple was deemed difficult by most leaders. A tiny percentage of corporate leaders truly understood behavior. Yet they managed thousands. After all “business was behavior and behavior was business” A small but meaningful step from each employee had the potential to lead big changes in the company, community and world.
