It was fascinating how Annabelle had half expected her old life to keep coming back, at least in flashes time and again, but they didn’t. Her past was in the past. She spent most of her year clearing it and true to Sandy’s guarantee, her past was buried forever.
Sandy did clarify that her past memories would still be part of her personal history, a library of events. The difference here is that there would be no negative emotional pull attached to it. It presented as just another memory, one she could go back to at any time in the future if ever she needed it. Annabelle had been through so much in the past year. Having been in a dysfunctional relationship she had blamed everyone for anything that went wrong in her life.
Hiring Sandy, a Rapid Success Coach was the best thing she did. She could see clearer now and understood the part she played in creating bad outcomes. Here she was at the beginning of a new year, ready to play. “We have had a rough two years” I overheard a lady say. We were at a bus stop. She was chatting with her friend. “It has been the worst two years of my life. I don’t feel human anymore” she exclaimed. “I felt cut off from people and didn’t realise how much that meant to me” she continued.
She wasn’t the only one feeling that. I felt the same. So much of my love to connect and communicate was limited to Zoom calls. I needed to touch and hold another’s hand, to hear the sound of laughter and just feel the preciousness of relationship. |
