Often, people do not see the natural link of an individual’s success and NLP. How this improves the performance of a business as a whole and how a simple NLP for business course is able to solve problems at the individual level, which translates to a stronger business as a whole. Thank goodness for John and Trevor who were driving the Culture Alignment project. They had experienced NLP and been benefactors to how this amazing methodology worked. There was no doubt in their minds that training a sales department on NLP for selling would be a great convincer to the rest of the company as it would boost overall sales within a few months.
Most people who had experienced NLP at a course referred to it as magic. It was no wonder that one of the early landmark books was called “The Structure of Magic.” What was the rave John was asked often. He related a story about his experience when he engaged in a simple goal setting exercise. He began with a small goal to test the power of this manifestation exercise. Creating pictures, sounds and feelings that matched his goal, he then realised how he was directing his unconscious mind to what he wanted. That was when he saw the power of doing this as a whole, whether family, organisation or community. When employees in an organisation set goals aligning their individual outcomes to the organisation’s goals, results were rapid and consistent. This is what he wanted for his company. He was grateful that his CEO Janice had an open mind and timing of what the organisation needed was perfect. These were variables that played a big part in the buy-in process. Sylvia Fernandes, NLP Master Trainer who was heading up the Culture Alignment project with her team, recommended that enrolling sales people into the program first would be bang for buck. Apart from downloading NLP for sales processes, a big wow was eliciting high performers’ strategies for closing sales. This helped identify gaps in other sales people who could then rectify and spike performance. Examples of gaps were not asking for the sale, inability to handle objections or lack of product knowledge. Modelling high performers in identifying closing strategies that consistently worked, was one huge benefit where NLP stood out. Imagine replicating this across the entire sales team which would serve to strengthen sales strategies and increase revenue for the company. Not doing this was leaving money on the table, as far as John was concerned. Business success at the end of the day boiled down to how people in an organisation planned, operated and performed. The NLP drive would begin with goal setting and progress to individuals evaluating their thought and behaviour patterns to eventually self-manage. This heightened awareness helped John eliminate his unhelpful patterns of behaviour and install healthier ones. The best part was that he did not have to share personal content, since NLP worked with context, process and structure. He looked forward to hearing about achievement of individual and organisational goals. From employee confidence, morale and motivation that translated into higher bottom line results. A win-win for all. Heightened performance revealed itself in a matter of a few months. Team strength made everyone feel stronger beginning with small wins to an exponential curve. This was the moment John was waiting for. The excitement was rewarding.
