How to Achieve Better Results at Work Using NLPFrom the time I was young I always set goals to achieve better results, never knowing the full importance or impact of this exercise. Most personal development courses start off with goal setting but never explain how this works. It was only when I attended an NLP training that I realised this was fundamental to directing my unconscious mind to what I really wanted. In the course of clarifying what I really wanted, I inevitably and unknowingly started with "what I did not want". As part of the NLP kit of tools to self-manage, there were also processes like how to de-stress and build resilience. Especially in this Covid-19 time, I felt these tools helped many to overcome the anxiety that crept in seamlessly under the radar. In this article I would like to give you a feel of how easy it is to achieve better results at work, by elaborating on each of these processes. You will understand how to make change fast, with models that are designed to work via the 5 senses. 1. Set Goals The age-old art of goal setting is further refined and deepened by creating a movie in your mind, of the goal you would like to manifest. You must also want it whole heartedly. If there is any doubt in your mind, it needs to be clarified and disbanded with. The clearer you are, the higher probability that your goal will manifest. Then setting it out on your future timeline, installing it so your conscious and unconscious minds are aligned. This is the power of manifesting your goal. This is why attending an NLP training is valuable, for it teaches you how to do this. Once you learn the process of doing this in your mind, you can use it for the rest of your life. 2. De-stress There are many people who have lost their way in the Covid-19 situation. Feeling stressed not knowing the way forward, this is an uncomfortable place to be. With stress comes fuzzy pictures and loss of clarity. One of the tools to self-manage that I share at an NLP training, is that the structure of pictures can be changed. For instance a stressed picture maybe created in black and white rather than colour. This evokes different feelings in the individual. For example, a still image if converted to an animated one, could change how the individual feels about that event from bored to excitement perhaps? Changing these building blocks within the five senses are crucial to eliminating stress. Richard Bandler co-founder of NLP uses this process of changing building blocks with all the change work that he does with clients. 3. Build Resilience In the big picture we all need to eradicate negativity from our past, before creating a future with promise. If not done in this order, many suffer the backlash of broken dreams and unrealised goals. When I conduct an NLP training, I focus on helping participants create a state of mind that includes clarity, focus and confidence. It is kind of like an Incredible Hulk state that unleashes an invincible feeling. Whatever happens internally or externally, you have the strength to push back and make things happen. This is the mindset of high performers in an organization, who somehow climb the corporate ladder successfully. The process of creating a state is easy and efficient. Once learnt, you can create as many states as you want in a matter of minutes. Looking at the leverage that you would gain if you attended an NLP training, wouldn’t it make sense to learn these self-management tools? You could have more of the good things in life, consistently over and over again. All of these points above when applied to self-first then to a mass of people, whether it be a team or an organization, result in achieving better results at work. When people have tools to self-manage, it is the most powerful form of motivation at a higher logical level. The starting point is to de-stress first and clear the way. Then set goals (as many as your heart desires), followed by a state to build resilience, for whatever may come your way. When you buy a car I presume you would look through the users’ manual? Attending an NLP training provides you with a users’ manual for the brain. Coded and structured with easy-to-understand processes to apply for very many different situations in life. See? It is easy isn’t it? All you need to do is prioritise learning these skills. Then you are set for life!
