Using NLP for Business StrategiesIn NLP, a strategy comprises the train of thoughts a person goes through to make a decision or achieve a goal. These strategies are described using the five senses i.e. what you see, hear, feel, smell and taste. In other words, a strategy is a set of internal steps that a person goes through in their mind, which produces a specific outcome. All organisations have business strategies to achieve a range of specific outcomes, which is ultimately reflected in their revenue. NLP for business strategies is the same. It makes sense for these processes to be tried and tested until confirmed as full proof, or changed to adapt to people and environments. Test, test, test till you are happy with the results produced. Using NLP for business strategies provides an edge beyond just run-of-the-mill strategies. A business coach with vast industry experience coupled with an NLP certification would be one way to gain this much-needed edge. If you are in a coaching start-up business that is even better, as effective business strategies put in place from the beginning are a good way to set the stage. However, understanding and applying the following would take your business to the next level, regardless of where your organisation is in terms of success. Make the Connection Between Individuals and the Business Often, people find it hard to link individual success with NLP in sales, and the follow-on effect of how this improves performance of an organisation as a whole. For example, there is no doubt that training a sales department on NLP in successful selling or NLP in sales, boosts overall sales. Part of the training includes sales people going through the steps of identifying their strategies, for closing sales. This process naturally, will also elicit their weaknesses in the sales process, for example, not asking for the sale, handling objections poorly or lacking product knowledge. When individuals’ strategies are fixed, the organisation’s sales strategies are also strengthened. In the same way, NLP in successful selling highlights strategy elicitation that is used to track sales department’s procedures. From obtaining a lead right up to the successful close of a sale, this process has the ability to spotlight weak links. A department is able to use NLP for business strategies and intervene to rectify the problem. For example, if the department has plenty of leads generated from referrals but sales are low, the problem may be tracked to insufficient follow-ups. When a business coach is able to tease out these distinctions, it saves the department a lot of angst and time. In another example, let’s say the design production at an advertising agency is frequently delayed. When strategies used by staff are elicited, it reveals the graphic designer as a perfectionist. This constant adjustment of design delays the entire process. Just one change in the graphic designer’s thought process, resolves the problem painlessly. Just one small change that has a huge impact on results! This is the kind of leverage a business coach would look for, to help a client produce exponential results. Use NLP to Fix Problems NLP for business strategies is also able to help achieve predictable, measurable and successful business goals. Business success boils down to how people in an organisation plan, operate and perform. When each individual’s outcome is aligned with the organisation’s goals, results become more consistent. This is how a coaching start-up would train its coaches ie. to be focused on achieving consistency with clients’ results. NLP in successful selling can boost employee confidence, morale and motivation that translates into stronger bottom-line results. NLP tools help individuals evaluate their thought and behaviour patterns, to understand if it helps them achieve their goals. It also helps break out of unhelpful patterns, to work in a more efficient way for greater rewards. An NLP in sales course most definitely strengthens business relationships and communication across the board. This has been my experience when doing culture change programs in organisations.
I can’t recall where I’ve heard this statement, “All organisations are perfect until you put people in it” but it has been proven time and again, that there are NLP for business strategies that one can employ to iron out differences. Communication is the cornerstone of human interaction, what more in a company with numerous departments and even more employees. Healthy rapport among employees, management and departments, is crucial for performance and putting into place successful plans and operations. Summing up, NLP is not just for individual success. When individuals' thought processes mirror the organisation’s procedures, that is where change happens for the benefit of all. NLP for business strategies provides a significant impact on the way your company plans, performs and operates. It also helps change individual's thought patterns and behaviours, which lead to more consistent and predictable outcomes. Sylvia Fernandes is the Founder & CEO of VIA Frontiers.
