The Salesman's Secret Weapon: A Winning Mindset

​Do you have a secret weapon in your toolbox? Your unique way of charming your clients? Or a deep repertoire of skills perhaps? Why not add another powerful weapon? A winning mindset.
In order to beat your competition and come out trumps, your winning mindset is the single most important thing that will guarantee consistent results. A powerful tool available to salespeople, to gain advantage in any deal or conversation. 
Why do you think it is called a secret weapon? Because it is hidden in individuals. This is an innate gift that most do not tap into as they are unaware.  This unique and valuable gift is easily accessible when an individual is trained in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP).
Termed as State Management, this sits at the core of the NLP toolbox. For instance helping a sales person who is operating at mediocre performance to reap  exceptional results. Wouldn’t everyone want that?
 If your life could be focused on going beyond mediocrity to access excellence, this would not only have an impact in sales performance but other aspects of your life. Relationships start to blossom. You find yourself in the right job that incites passion.
This secret weapon is a mental attitude that has technique attached to it. If you have felt confident in a context of life in the past, your neurology already knows this feeling.
Step into that time and notice where you feel this confidence in your body as different states of mind are stored in specific parts of your body. I hope you now see how important it is to understand your body.
Those who are stuck in their heads, filled with internal dialogue, will lose out here. Sales people who have an edge in their careers will understand what I mean. They are acquainted with their bodies to the extent that their intuition guides them. They get a feeling that resonates.
The next step once the location and feeling are identified, is to amplify the feeling. If it is a 6 out of 10 intensity, ramp it up like turning the volume dial on your radio. Athletes know how to do this well. They are intimately aware of when the race is about to begin and how important timing is, to begin ramping up their energy.
Storing this state on a part of your body ie. on your first knuckle could be the one thing you do, as you prepare to close the deal and ask for the sale. That confidence is hopefully by now 10 out of 10.
The amazing thing about doing this is it is replicable. Over and over as you use it more and more, you will find the psychology of selling coupled with this secret weapon (which by the way is a key characteristic of successful salespeople) to be the winning formula of what you need.
Gaining experience of using these with the numerous years of interaction with clients will augur well for a consistent high performance result, one that others will most definitely be in awe of.
